If you want to see rhino and you have one night to spare, Lake Nakuru is the answer. The park is fully fenced, compact and holds both black and white rhino at high density.
It also protects Rothschild's giraffe, translocated here to save the subspecies, and lions that have a habit of climbing the acacia.
Flamingo numbers rise and fall with the lake's water level, so we never promise the pink shoreline — but when it happens, it is unforgettable.
Day 1
Depart Nairobi at 7:00am via the Rift Valley viewpoint, entering the park before midday. An afternoon game drive covers the lakeshore, Baboon Cliff and the rhino areas. Overnight at a lodge inside or beside the park.
Day 2
A sunrise game drive through the acacia woodland and down to Makalia Falls, then breakfast, checkout and the return to Nairobi, arriving mid-afternoon.

Nothing in the wild is guaranteed, but Nakuru has one of the highest rhino densities in Kenya and sightings on a full game drive are close to routine.
Rising lake levels over the past decade reduced the alkalinity that feeds the algae flamingos eat, so many moved to Lake Bogoria. Numbers at Nakuru fluctuate and are recovering; we set expectations honestly before you travel.
