This is the safari most people picture when they think of Kenya, and we run it the way it should be run — unhurried, with time in the reserve when the light is good and the cats are moving.
You leave Nairobi early on day one and are in the reserve for an afternoon game drive the same day. Day two is a full day inside the Mara with a packed picnic lunch, so you never have to break the morning to drive back to camp.
Nights are at a tented camp just outside the gate — proper beds, en-suite bathrooms, hot water and dinner around a fire, with the sound of the reserve close enough to keep you awake in the best way.
Day 1
Depart Nairobi at 7:00am in a 4x4 safari van or Land Cruiser. We break at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, then continue through Narok, arriving at camp for lunch. An afternoon game drive from 4:00pm runs until dusk. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 2
An early breakfast and a full day inside the Mara with a packed picnic lunch. We work the Mara and Talek rivers for hippo and crocodile, the plains for cheetah and lion, and the riverine forest for leopard. In migration season we position for river crossings. Return to camp at dusk.
Day 3
A final game drive at first light, when predator activity peaks. Back to camp for a late breakfast, then check out and depart for Nairobi via Narok, with a stop for lunch. Arrival in Nairobi late afternoon.
Tented camp just outside the reserve — en-suite canvas tents with real beds, hot showers, electricity and a central dining area. Lodge upgrades available on request.

The migration is in the Mara roughly between July and October. Crossings depend on the herds and the weather and cannot be guaranteed on any single day, but during that window we position for them. Outside those months resident wildlife is excellent and prices are lower.
Yes. Children of all ages are welcome and under-12s pay a reduced park rate. Let us know their ages when you book so we can arrange the right vehicle and rooming.
Yes. We work with camps and lodges at several levels, from the tented camp included here up to luxury lodges inside the reserve. Ask us for a quote.
Tipping is not compulsory. A common guideline is KSh 1,000–1,500 per traveller per day for the driver-guide, plus something for camp staff.
