The Kenyan Rift is one of the world's great drives: a valley floor strung with lakes, each one chemically and ecologically different from the last, framed by escarpments on both sides.
We run north from Naivasha's freshwater and hippo, through Nakuru's rhino, to Bogoria's boiling geysers and flamingo, and finish at Baringo — freshwater again, and one of Africa's great birding lakes.
It is a proper road trip: long windows, changing landscape, and somewhere new every night.
Day 1
Depart Nairobi and descend into the Rift with a stop at the escarpment viewpoint. Afternoon cycling in Hell's Gate and a boat safari on Naivasha at golden hour.
Day 2
A morning transfer north to Lake Nakuru National Park for a full game drive — rhino, Rothschild's giraffe and Baboon Cliff. Overnight in Nakuru.
Day 3
North to Lake Bogoria, where geysers and hot springs erupt along the shoreline and flamingo gather in the shallows. Continue to Lake Baringo for the night.
Day 4
An early boat trip on Baringo for hippo, crocodile and cliff-nesting birds, then the long drive south to Nairobi, arriving evening.
Lakeside camps and lodges at Naivasha, Nakuru and Baringo — en-suite rooms, half board.

Two to three hours between each lake, broken by activities. The longest single stretch is the return from Baringo to Nairobi on day four, at around five hours.
You can walk right up to them along a marked shoreline path with a guide. The water is genuinely boiling — vendors sell eggs cooked in the springs — so stay on the path.
